Wow, January is almost over.  While I looked forward to 2009; this month has proved to be quite challenging.  Both little big man and I have had surgery,  a couple of friends and family have gone on to be with the Lord, others are fighting life-threatening battles and many are facing job loss, among other things.

Even during these difficult times, I know God is with us.

The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” Deuteronomy 31:8

What a comfort to know God is with us through good times and bad.

Many blessings,

Dolly

Life is truly a balancing act.  Think of all the things you as a women, wife, mother and friend are responsible for on a daily basis.  I know many times at the end of the day there hasn’t been time for me.

As a Christian Life Coach, I still find it difficult to juggle all the demands on my time; however, I have found a few tricks and tips that are making a difference.

1-Learn to say NO!  You don’t have to serve on every committee or volunteer for every activity your child is involved in.  Working from home, I’ve had people tell me, “Since your home all day anyway, I thought you could (fill in the blank)”.  Just because I work from home doesn’t mean I have a ton of time on my hands.  I do not sit in front of the TV watching soaps and eating bon-bons all day.

2-Set priorities!  What is really important to you?  Look at your to-do list and decide what needs to be done now and what can be put on the back burner.  While you’re at it, look at the things you can delegate.  Let the hubby and children give you a hand.  While I may think I do a better job doing the laundry, I’ve learned to live with all the hangers not facing in the same direction.

3. Spend time for you!  It’s important that you take care of yourself.  Make sure you are getting enough rest and eating properly.  It is equally important that you take a breaks from your computer.  If the weather permits get outside and take a walk or work in your garden.  At least get up and stretch.  Take a minimum of thirty minutes a day for yourself and then have a girls night out at least monthly.  You will feel better and your family will appreciate the renewed you.

Thank you for all the prayers for little big man.  He is feeling better each day.  We are already seeing a difference; no more snoring and the sleep apnea is gone!  We are praising God for this.

My focus has been on caring for my family and I am very thankful I am able to be able to do so.  After God, by biggest priority and blessing is my family.  I am truly blessed.

I’ve known hubby since I was a teenager and we’ve now been married for twenty-six years.  During that time we have faced many challenges, trials and tribulations, but we have also shared a huge amount of love, laughter and blessings.  Hubby is truly a man after God’s own heart and after many years of living in the world, he is a shining example of what a Christian husband and father should be.

My children, while not perfect, bring much happiness to my life.  Hearing, ‘Mom, I love you’, or receiving big squenches, (hugs) makes me realize how blessed I really am.

While this life does come with it’s share of challenges and obstacles, the blessings far outweigh those times.

I pray you will take some time to focus on your family.  I guarantee you will be glad you did.

Many blessings,

I’m very thankful the doctor prescribed both a pain medication and a numbing med.  We realized during the night to make sure we give little big man his medication at regular intervals.  As long as we don’t go past the four-hour mark, he does really well.

Today he doesn’t want to eat anything except jello, pudding and popcicles.  He’s really doing well and being a real trooper.  Daddy is taking good care of him while I try to get some work done.

I am so thankful for my guys.

Many blessings,

I can’t believe it.  I thought big little man would sleep all day.  He slept all the way home from the hospital and went right into bed.  We kept checking on him to make sure he was okay.  He finally woke up and the first thing he said was, “Mom, I’m hungry”.  That’s a good thing, but he wants a Happy Meal from McDonalds.  Wouldn’t you think the salty fries would burn?  He ate the entire meal!  I’m so amazed, is this the same child that freaks over a hang nail?

Many Blessings,

Dolly

Poor little guy finally had his tonsils out.  We have dealt with breathing issues, sore throats, ear infections, snoring and such since he was only a few weeks old.

We are home and he is sleeping peacefully.  The nurses and doctors were wonderful.  Daddy & I were able to be the  room with him while they prepped him for surgery.  Daddy had to leave for his own doctor’s appointment, so I stayed with our big little boy.  They allowed me to go into the operating room with him until he fell asleep.  Once he came back into post op, I was there with him.

I think I’ll go curl up with my ‘baby’ and cuddle for a while.

Many blessings,

Dolly

Little big man is finally getting his tonsils out. He has suffered with bouts of tonsilitis for several years now. I am so blessed we have found a doctor who is in agreement with us.

Our poor little guy keeps a sore throat; his tonsils are now permanently enlarged, which causes breathing problems for him as well.

He is a bit apprehensive about the surgery, but many people are praying for him and we know God will be watching over him.

We covet your prayers and I’ll try to keep you posted on his progress.

Thank you in advanced for joining us in prayer for our little big man.

Many blessings,

Dolly

I have finally decided it was time to get my blog back up and start blogging again.

So many times life gets in the way and other things become more important and take precedence over blogging.

I realized blogging was my down time. It is so much easier just to sit down at the computer and share my thoughts than it is to pull out my scrapbooking supplies.

This blog is also to help other women. My passion and my ministry is to help empower women and let them find joy in all circumstances.

I hope you will share your thoughts with me as we take this journey together.

Many blessings,

Dolly
